Members of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington will be performing at noon on Friday at the Wharf, which is part of the multi-billion dollar redevelopment project along the city’s Southwest Waterfront scheduled to officially open this weekend.

Thea Kano, artistic director of the Gay Men’s Chorus, said the chorus’s smaller ensemble called Rock Creek Singers will perform at the Wharf between 12 – 12:45 p.m. on Friday as part of a four-day celebration of the grand opening of the waterfront area.

“We will perform a variety of Broadway and pop selections,” she told the Blade. “District Wharf reached out to us a few months ago to invite us to participate in the grand opening festivities,” she said. “We are thrilled that they thought to include us in the list of area artists that will perform throughout the festival.”
