Watch M. Lamar’s Erotic Film Before Heading to Brooklyn’s First-Ever Dirty Book Fair
Let’s read about sex, baby. This weekend, you can read about all the good and bad things that may be contained in the first annual Brooklyn Dirty Book Fair, called Crushed. The two-day fair, held at Greenpoint’s Point Green Studio, is the brainchild of artist and curator Matthew Leifheit, who seems to have taken a cue from SNL’s Stefon when planning for the event—come prepared for a nude performance by classical and jazz musicians and an orgy afterparty.
Before you head off to stuff your bag with a handful of X-rates zines and books, introduce yourself to M. Lamar. The artist, who’s in the final stages of releasing a book called NEGROGOTHIC, teamed with Leifheit for a sensual, shocking NSFW film, titled Yo My Cracker. Click here for the artfully arranged penis portraits and stay for the Robert Mapplethorpe-inspired butt whip.
The fair, described as “a platform for independent publishers of erotic and pornographic material and artists working with sex,” is also going to be stuffed full of material for every kink you can imagine and a looping video of rare, erotic photographs by George Pitts will accompany a must-see performance by M. Lamar. If zines are your fetish, there’ll be collections curated by Shelley Fox Aarons and Printed Matter’s Phil Aarons; copies of Leifheit’s own queer-focused MATTE Magazine; and feminist porn periodical Math Magazine.
Brooklyn Dirty Book Fair will run Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, 16, from 12–9 PM at Point Green Studio in Greenpoint.
